Slavery 2006
I saw an interesting film, a special showing at the Tivoli, a cinema on the DU campus, on Thursday, called Trading Women. About human trafficking in S. E. Asia, and after the movie there was a professor from DU who explained that the same thing--slavery-- is happening in America, he said, for example in his neighbourhood, he had a neighbour whose au pair, he was concerned, was not really an au pair (i.e wasn't getting paid at all). In America there are apparently 80000 American born slaves-- people who work for no pay or for so litttle that they will never pay off the debt that keeps them em-bonded. Most of them involved in the sex trade. For more info on the issue:

Otherwise not much new, working, playing a bit of EVE online, watching too much tv, (Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Dr. Who, Studio 60, South Park, Lost, My Name is Earl, Ghost Hunters...), dvds, practicing Aikido, attending Baha'i Events.
But i've been thinking more and more of moving back to China, first to Beijing (because there is also a place to practise Aikido in Beijing), to study Chinese only for 1 year. And after that to work, probably teaching ESL and beginer's German again. However, i won't move back to China for a few more years, because i need to save enough money, and i'd like to reach a higher level in my Aikido practise at Nippon-Kan. www.nippon-kan.org
