From little Japan (back) to the Navajo Nation
Well folks, sorry but i was so busy at the Dojo i didn't have time to keep up on my Aikido Diary, but i'll try to write a summary of my month at Nippon Kan later (and more details from that first week because i kept notes from it). What happened to doing 3 months? Well, I quit the Dojo today-- it was getting too much for me physically, i'm not masachistic enough to withstand that much pain for 2 more months (ankels, knees, wrists, elbows, lower back-- just from having all those classes in a row with no recovery time) plus i really want to spend time at NABI (the Native American Baha'i Institute) again, and the next 2 months is the only time i have for that! So i'm driving down to NABI (on the Navajo Nation which borders Arizona to the south and west, New Mexico to the east and Utah to the north) tomorrow (Sunday) morning (to Durango first)-- will get to NABI on Monday eve. And will be of service there through June and July instead. It won't do any good to my Aikido, but it will bring me much more happiness to be serving the Faith instead of just getting better at Aikido! Of course it would have been better to have figured that out before committing to 3 months at Nippon Kan, nevertheless, the 1 month i spent there was a really great experience and i'm glad to have done it-- despite now being a "quitter".
Also, last week i finally got my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) (Bridge-Linguatech online course) certificate in the mail. And it shows i got the highest (A) grade. I'm already an experienced EFL teacher but now i'm also certified as such, which means i should get a bit more pay than non-certified teachers. But of course, i still have a long way to go in becoming a better teacher!
