After the wedding
We didn't, at the time, have time or money for a proper honeymoon, but
maybe we can do that after the big Chinese wedding. However, we did
have time for a mini honeymoon, which involved going to her Father's
hometown as a day-trip, about half an hour east of Baotou-Eastside. It's close to the
mountain range to the that curves around Baotou, east to north to west,
and near to the mountain with the highest peak. Which is the same
mountain I hiked up a couple years ago with some of the folks from the
English Corner. First we visited 2 of Baba's cousins, then his
Grandfather. Then one of his cousin's took us hiking halfway up the
Mountain. I wanted to go all the way up, but there wasn't enough time,
so we had to turn back. After a snack of home grown pears at a friend's
house, we had lunch with his two cousins and then traveled back to
Baotou (by bus). While big cities like Baotou, and or, bigger cities
are very well developed and not much different from "Developed"
countries. Villages in China are much less developed and much more like
villages in, for example, India. That's my impression, anyway.
