Note From India
It’s going to happen! Magendran and I’ll leave on Wednesday, probably, and spend about 5 days in Sikkim and then come back to Delhi. Including the train trips that will take us just over 7 days for the whole trip. One needs to get a special permit, but its free, so May Wentee (that’s mandarin Chinese: no problem, in English).
I sung a Hidden Word, (melody by my Brit friend Martin Kerr, currently studying in the USA) at the Dawn Prayers at the Baha’i House of Worship of Asia. I was very nervous not having an opportunity to rehearse and so it wasn’t as good as it might have been with rehearsal but it still turned out okay, I guess. You’d have to ask someone else, to be sure! The Hidden Word by Baha’u’llah, melody by Martin Kerr, from his Just Another Man Album is:
O My Friend In Word,
Ponder a while. Hast thou ever heard
that friend and foe could abide in one heart?
Cast out then the stranger,
That the Friend may enter His home.
In Sikkim, we’ll stay in its capital town of Gangtok. But we won’t need to stay in an expensive hotel, we’ll be able to stay at the Baha’i Center or Baha’i Bhavan/House as they’re called in India. And we’ll visit some friends that Magendran has there.
